Rivers of living water

Jesus said, ‘He that believeth on Me, out of his inner being shall flow rivers of living water.’ The Holy Spirit is the source, but the Word of God says that when we have received the Holy Spirit, the source is in us! External experiences are of the world, the flesh or the devil. The inner experience is the fresh river source, the sweet blessing, the mighty power of God, the Holy Spirit within you!

What Does "Rivers of Living Water" Mean?

In John 7:38, Jesus says, "He that believeth on Me, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." This powerful metaphor describes the internal transformation of a believer through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The Source is Within

While the world seeks fulfillment in external experiences—often categorized in scripture as the world, the flesh, or the enemy—the Christian faith teaches that the ultimate source of life is internal.

The Holy Spirit: The primary source of the "river."

The Believer: The vessel through which this power flows.

The Result: A continuous, self-sustaining supply of spiritual life that does not depend on external circumstances.

If you are looking for the "sweet blessing" of God, look inward to the Holy Spirit rather than outward to the world. When you believe in Christ, you aren't just visiting a fountain; you become the location of the spring.

"The water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." — John 4:14
