Holy Spirit

We need the power of the Holy Spirit

We need the power of the Holy Spirit

When I received the Holy Spirit, everything changed. From that moment, I understood that I was called to live and minister in the same way we see Peter, Paul, John, Philip, and the other apostles living and ministering in the Book of Acts. The work of God cannot be accomplished in human strength. We need the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the power behind the ministry

The Holy Spirit is the power behind the ministry

When Peter received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, he immediately stood up and preached – and 3,000 people responded and received Christ. This shows us something of the power behind Spirit-filled preaching.

Compelled by the Spirit

Compelled by the Spirit

Paul was full of concern because he says, “I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there.” He didn't know what awaited him. He didn't know what the consequences would be. But he knew he had to go. That is what it means to be compelled by the Holy Spirit. You may not know everything that lies ahead, but you know that God is telling you to go – and when He compels you, you obey.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit

Empowered by the Holy Spirit

Paul explains in verse 4 that John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. John told the people to believe in the One who was coming after him – that is, in Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Paul laid his hands on them, and the Holy Spirit came upon them. They spoke in tongues and prophesied – and there were about twelve men. What an incredible picture of the power of the Holy Spirit!

Led by the Spirit

Led by the Spirit

I believe that God has also chosen you and me to be His witnesses today. Just as the early disciples were called to testify of the greatness of God, we too have been chosen to declare what we have seen and experienced of His transforming power.

The Holy Spirit will change your life

The Holy Spirit will change your life

What happened on the Day of Pentecost was not a one-time event. Again and again, throughout the later chapters of the Acts of the Apostles, we read of people receiving the Holy Spirit. Each time, there was a remarkable transformation. They were filled with a new dynamic power, and it became unmistakably clear that the Holy Spirit had changed their lives.

The Holy Spirit is given to all Believers

The Holy Spirit is given to all Believers

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit recorded in Acts chapter 2 came upon the 120 believers, but there is absolutely no question that God's intention was never to limit His Spirit to that small group. The same Holy Spirit was given for all believers, empowering ordinary men and women to live as bold witnesses for Christ.

God honours obedience

God honours obedience

When we obey God, trust Him, and follow His calling, He will honour us and give us the grace and strength to accomplish His purposes.

Pentecost was only a beginning

Pentecost was only a beginning

What happened on the Day of Pentecost can and should happen today. It was not a one-time event that ended with the first disciples; rather, it was the beginning of the Spirit-empowered life of the Church throughout this age. The evidence, demonstration, and confirmation of who Jesus is continues through the work of the Holy Spirit in His people.

Transformed and empowered by the Holy Spirit

Transformed and empowered by the Holy Spirit

This outpouring of the Holy Spirit marked the birth of the Church's Spirit-empowered ministry. It was God's visible demonstration of His power at work in His people – a ministry that continues throughout this age until Christ returns.

The last instruction of Jesus

The last instruction of Jesus

In Acts 1, Jesus spoke to a group of ordinary, imperfect men – including Peter, who had denied Him only weeks before. Yet Jesus made them an extraordinary promise: "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you." In other words, the Holy Spirit would transform their lives and empower them to fulfil the ministry He was entrusting to them.

I want to encourage you to truly know the power of God in your life and to see that power demonstrated through you.

Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit

Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive power from God, and that power is meant to be demonstrated. What I sense today is that much of the Church is not living in that power or demonstrating it to the world. So, I would ask: if you have received the Holy Spirit, what difference has it made in your life?

We need the Power of the Holy Spirit

We need the Power of the Holy Spirit

We need the power of the Holy Spirit to see miracles! There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12: – three vocal gifts, speaking with tongues, the interpretation of tongues, and prophecy – three intellectual gifts, the word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, and the discerning of spirits – three practical gifts, the gifts of healing, the working of miracles and the gift of faith. The gift of faith is NOT an intellectual gift! If you see faith as only an intellectual gift, you will never see its power. It is a practical gift; it’s the one I ask for – more than any other gift!

I wanted what was in the Bible: The Baptism of Fire and Power

I wanted what was in the Bible: The Baptism of Fire and Power

When I was searching for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I wanted something explosive that would change my life. If you do not want that – if you want a quiet life, enough money to buy your food, some nice clothes – you will get what you want, but nothing more!

The Holy Spirit brings conviction and deliverance

The Holy Spirit brings conviction and deliverance

My father said that it is not just preaching which brings people to repentance. He said you’ve not yet received the Holy Spirit; he told me, the Bible says Jesus taught His disciples the first lesson in evangelism when He said, “When the Holy Spirit is come, He (not you, David), He, will convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement.” My father said, you need the Holy Spirit.

Possess the promises of God

Possess the promises of God

The Lord has given you the land! Possess it! Go in armed ready for war!’ (Deuteronomy 3:18). It is God’s command, not a request, to go and take the land! I see this as a challenge in my personal life as well as in my ministry in Russia. Many ask why I see miracles of healing, thousands repent, and revival comes.
