Jesus still heals! The miracle that changed a blind woman’s life

“this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him”

In John 9, Jesus encountered a man who had been blind from birth. His disciples asked, “Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

But Jesus gave a very different answer: “This happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Jesus then made mud, put it on the man's eyes and told him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man obeyed – and came back seeing.

What a remarkable miracle. He had never asked Jesus to heal him, and he had never even seen Jesus. Yet one encounter with Christ completely transformed his life. When people questioned him, he could only say, “I was blind but now I see.”

“Once I was blind but now I can see!”

I remember a similar miracle many years ago when I was smuggled into Moldova. I had no visa and was hidden under a blanket in the back of a car because Christians there needed me to preach at an open-air meeting.

At that meeting, I saw a young blind woman who was crying. When I asked her why, she told me she believed she had been born blind because of her sin.

I told her that Jesus came to die for sinners – to forgive sin, break every curse and set us free. I prayed for her and laid hands on her. God opened her eyes.

Suddenly, the tears were gone. She was laughing because the power of God had touched her life.

That is what Jesus wants to do in our lives. He came to forgive sin, break every curse, bring freedom and give us new life.

Jesus is the healer

I have witnessed God's miraculous power throughout my ministry. More than sixty years ago, when I was diagnosed with throat cancer, I asked God for a miracle. He completely healed me. The doctors could not explain what had happened – but I knew. Jesus had healed me.

I am not a healer. I am not a doctor. But Jesus is alive, and His power has not changed.

Perhaps you have never seen Jesus. Neither had the man in John 9 when his eyes were opened. But you can still call upon Him. His name is Jesus, the Son of the living God, and His name has power.

The greatest miracle is not merely physical healing. It is the transformation of a human life. The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.”

Jesus loves you. He came to set you free, forgive your sin and give you new life.

Come to Jesus today. Call upon His name – and let Him change your life.
