Dear Ministry Partner
May the Lord give you His special blessing over Christmas and the New Year. Although we are remembering at this time, the birth of a Baby, He is no longer a child but has become the Saviour of the world and its coming King!
For those who have family, this is a special time. For many like me it is a memory of Christmases past; for others it is families together with a future. For me there is a tinge of sadness; both my wife and my father died at Christmas time, and I spent one Christmas alone in a cold dark communist prison. But even I have happier memories of the past, rejoicing that this Christmas, like the past, I will be surrounded with the whole of my family together in one place. I remember when we could put them all into my house, then as they grew in number, my daughter’s house, but now expanded so much that’s not possible; but one of my granddaughters and her husband have recently moved into the largest house in the family – so by God’s Grace we shall all be gathered there!
It is one of the blessings of God that, despite my years of absence on the mission field, today I am supported by the love and blessing of my whole family. Add to that the presence of a Heavenly Father and Precious living Saviour and the soon coming re-union of those loved ones who have gone on before.
So, together with you who have supported and prayed for this ministry, I celebrate with thankfulness to God for another wonderful year – thousands brought to Christ and hundreds miraculously healed! It is thanks to you for your love and support which has made all this possible. For me you are also part of my family, and together we can look forward to a busier and even more fruitful new year in 2026.
As I write this we have just held a small but significant Day of Prayer for Ukraine, at a time when it looked like Ukraine was being pressured to unconditional surrender with all war crimes committed against it by Russia airbrushed out of the record book – and the way made open for a future conquest of Kyiv itself and on to Europe.
Following the prayer for Ukraine I left for Germany by car and am now just back from two days preaching and evangelising in TOS Church, Tübingen, southern Germany. It was a double celebration: 75 years of full-time ministry and 30 years close friendship with this church. Their performance in dance and song of Isaiah 53, the Gospel prophecy of Christ's rejection, crucifixion and resurrection was deeply moving and provoked to tears. After the preaching many came forward to Christ to receive the forgiveness of sin, and many were healed. The pastor, Jobst Bittner, asked me to pray for those actively evangelising on the streets – we expected 5 or 10 perhaps to come forward – but the spacious platform filled with too many to count!!! We are very moved because Tübingen was at the heart of Nazi evil, but through this new generation of believers, God has changed the city, people are changed and come to Christ.
Within days, as you receive this letter, I will already be in Ukraine, in the East, where the fighting is hottest on the frontline. It takes us three days to get there and three to get back, but I will be home in time for my great grandson’s birthday on December 19th.
We have a full programme for next year, beginning with Catholics in Luxembourg. After that, evangelism in Georgia amongst the Georgian Moslems; then ministry in Aachen in Germany; then back in Kazakhstan to train the youth, evangelising in two key locations, encouraging the Uigher minority (exiles from China), also training and encouraging leaders from Kyrgyzstan where strong persecution against the Christian churches has broken out; later in the year, evangelism in Poland; and, at the moving of the Holy Spirit, ready to fulfil the Plans the Lord has for Ukraine in 2026.
I am expecting to hold at least one conference in England during 2026 – I cannot ever remember a time when Britain has been so divided – we desperately need strong but stable government – but where can we look? Every party seems to have self-interest at the centre. We are in danger of becoming ungovernable; but we are not alone in this – the whole world is in turmoil. Where can we go, but to the Lord? A former UK MP once said that with every election, we tip out one lot of sinners and vote another lot in! We desperately need the Return of our Messiah! Physically, materially and spiritually, this world, the whole creation, is ‘groaning and travailing as in the pains of childbirth. And we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons of God, the redemption of our bodies. That’s the Rapture, the Resurrection of the Dead in Christ!
I am praying for Revival, but maybe we should be fasting and praying for Jesus to come back! I am certain that the Antichrist is already here; just as Jesus could not commence His ministry until He was 30 years old, so also the ‘Man of Sin’ who is to lead the nations and the religions, must, at that time, be grown and mature. But more on this later.
Let us now get on with our main task which will continue until we are Raptured – bringing sinners to the Cross and Repentance. I have not stopped and will not stop. This is priority if we believe in Christ’s soon Return. So, we desperately need your financial support and prayers for our up-coming programme in 2026. Let me ask you to give a special gift this Christmas to help us win more souls to Christ and save them from an eternity in hell.
David
Thank you for supporting this vision and ministry. We appreciate every gift: to those who give by Standing Order, thank you – many donate anonymously, we are grateful to God for you. Together, we are making an eternal difference in the lives of so many people: each week the Gospel is preached in-person and online, and with your generosity, our staff in Ukraine distribute humanitarian aid to those in need.
At the start of each year David likes to remember the words of Minnie Louise Haskins: ‘And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown”. And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way”. So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night.’
