The fifth National Day of Prayer for Ukraine, held Saturday 6 June, was organised by the Ministry of David Hathaway in co-operation with all the main church denominations in Ukraine. Because of Covid-19, the service was held online and broadcast on four Christian TV channels: CNL, New Christian, HopeTV and for the very first time by EWTN Ukraine – member of worldwide Catholic TV network. The event was also streamed on YouTube and Facebook in two languages, with sign language on the Ukrainian stream.

Immediately preceding the Ukraine Day of Prayer, 8 June, David Hathaway had a personal meeting with Patriarch Filaret, Archbishop, Patriarch of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev Patriarchate. Filaret is the most influential religious leader in Ukraine. At 90 years old, he has been in ministry for over 70 years.

On 8 June 2019, David Hathaway held a Day of Prayer for Ukraine. This is the fourth year this service has been organised. Held initially in response to the armed conflict in east Ukraine, it is now a declaration of unity and repentance, both to God and before the nation.
