In June I was invited as the key speaker to the all-Kazakh inter-confessional Pastors ‘Kurultai’ or spiritual council. Pastors came from as far as 3500 km away and brought their people with them. I spent 3 days ministering to Kazakh Pastors and Leaders from this vast country – over-lapping with 2 days ministering to their Kazakh Youth – 4 nights in total, with evangelism each evening advertised on the internet, bringing in more people! There was great joy in the cultural worship in the first 2 days, and the youth meetings were literally bursting with energy!
From my life’s experience I preached the reality of Christ, and the realities of a life lived serving Him. It seemed that hundreds, half the hall came forward to respond to the call to repentance each night, and there were many special healings. Some testified through the microphone from the platform, whilst many more simply told their leaders who had brought them.
In Kazakhstan we are witnessing a move of God built on the courage, perseverance and faithfulness of men and women who saw the great revival of the 1990s and early 2000s (when communism first collapsed), and who have survived 20 years of persecution since – lies, libels, confiscation of church properties, arrests and court cases. But we all sense, this new move of God will be greater than that first great revival! The leadership told me, “A second wave of revival is coming. It cannot now be stopped. Your renewed investment in ministry here in recent years is a sign for us! Last time you came, we saw a ‘cloud the size of a man’s hand’. Now we know, HEAVY RAIN IS COMING! Like Elijah, we must get up and run with it!”
