Put your faith in God

It is easy for us as believers to read and hear about the stories in the Bible without personally identifying with them. But if God did these things in the past, why not believe for them today? Some Christians would dismiss miracles like speaking in tongues and healing by saying either that these were in the past, or that they were ‘dispensational’, that they can only happen at certain times! The real truth is that they do not want these things to happen, it would disturb the religious ‘order’ of their lives!

I came into a totally new experience of faith, the realisation that if God says it – then He will always do it! This is what faith is, not faith in a promise or a healing, but faith in God as a person, that my God is a God of His Word, who will always keep a given promise! This means that you have to make a conscious decision, either to continue to live ‘normally’ or to live in a faith-experience of letting God’s Word govern your decisions.

It is a command of God that we must possess and receive all that God has for us.

Biblical Miracles Today: Why Faith is More Than History

Many believers view Biblical accounts as mere historical records rather than living blueprints for today. If God performed miracles in the past, why do we struggle to believe for them in the present?

Addressing "Dispensationalism" and Religious Tradition

A common hurdle in modern Christianity is the dismissal of miracles – such as healing and speaking in tongues – as "dispensational." This viewpoint suggests that supernatural acts were reserved for a specific era of the early church.

However, the resistance to the supernatural often stems from a desire for comfort. Genuine miracles disrupt "religious order" and predictable routines. To experience the fullness of God, we must move beyond theological excuses that limit His power to the past.

What is True Faith?

True faith is not merely believing in a specific outcome or a physical healing; it is a relational trust in the character of God.

Faith in the Person: Recognising God as a person who is inherently faithful.

The Integrity of the Word: The realisation that if God says it, He will do it.

A Sovereign Promise: Understanding that God is a "God of His Word" who cannot break a promise.

Living a Faith-Governed Life

Every believer faces a conscious crossroad: continuing to live a "normal," self-governed life or choosing to live a faith-experience. Living by faith means letting God’s Word govern your decisions, your expectations, and your worldview.

Key Takeaway: It is not a suggestion, but a command of God that we possess and receive everything He has provided for us.
