I like to boast about the power of my God because He is a God of action! Yes, God is a God of love, of compassion. But the God I know and serve, the God of the Bible, is not passive, but militant in action on our behalf. A God of love, but also a God of power.
Today it’s time that we began to rise up and recognise the power and authority that we have in Jesus’ Name. Power to preach a life-changing Gospel, power to bring healing miracles in order that He might receive the glory, and so that we as ‘ordinary’ people might have something dynamic to demonstrate in our lives! When Jesus healed the paralytic man (Matthew 9:6) He said, ‘So that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth... rise up and walk!’ Today we must become men and women of action to continue the demonstration begun by Jesus, so that non-believers will desire to have what we have!
The challenge today is for believers to demonstrate who the REAL Jesus is.
The Power and Authority of God in Action: A Biblical Mandate
In Christian theology, the nature of God is defined not only by passive attributes like compassion but by dynamic power and divine authority. Believers are called to demonstrate this "God of Action" through tangible miracles and the preaching of the Gospel.
The Dual Nature of the Biblical God
Scripture presents a balanced view of the Divine, emphasizing that God is simultaneously:
A God of Love: Characterized by compassion and grace.
A God of Power: An active, "militant" force working on behalf of humanity.
Demonstrating Authority in Jesus’ Name
The transition from "ordinary" believer to "dynamic" witness occurs through the application of spiritual authority. This is modeled after the ministry of Jesus, specifically seen in the Healing of the Paralytic (Matthew 9:6):
"But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins... Get up, pick up your mat and go home."
The Mission: A Call to Action for Believers
To reach non-believers, the Church is challenged to move beyond words into a demonstration of the 'Real Jesus.' This involves:
Healing Miracles: Validating the Gospel through physical restoration.
Authoritative Preaching: Delivering a life-changing message that demands a response.
Active Faith: Transitioning from a passive belief system to a militant, active pursuit of God's glory on Earth.
