Is God's Power The Same Today?

The Immutable Power of God: From the Bible to the Present Day

When I was in a communist prison for smuggling Bibles, I challenged God, I said, "If You could get Paul and Silas out of prison after they prayed, then I want You to work a miracle for me! O God, that happened 2000 years ago, is Your power the same today? If it is, I want you to get me out of prison!"

This is the challenge, is God the same as He was in the days of the Bible? Can God work the same miracles today that we read about in the Bible?

I want to tell you that He is the same God. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. What you read in the Bible can happen in your life today! All you need to do is believe.

Is the God of the Bible still the God of today?

The central question for every believer in crisis is this: Is the God of the Bible still the God of today? When we face modern "prisons" – whether physical, financial, or emotional – we must decide if we believe in a historical figure or a living, unchanging Power.

The "Paul and Silas" Precedent

Miracles are not just historical artifacts; they are spiritual prototypes. When we challenge God based on His previous actions, we are appealing to His unchanging character:

The Biblical Standard: Paul and Silas prayed, and the prison doors opened.

The Modern Challenge: "If You did it 2,000 years ago, do it for me today!"

The Result: God does not respect persons or time periods; He respects faith.

The Law of Divine Immutability

The foundation of modern miracles is found in the scripture: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

Key Principle: Stop reading the Bible as a history book and start reading it as a current manifesto. What God did then, He is legally and spiritually bound to do now for those who believe.
