“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” (Numbers 23:19-20, NKJV)
God's Power breaks every curse. I want to tell you, whom God has blessed, no one can curse! No one can curse you, when you have the love of God in your heart. In Numbers 23.19-20, Balaam was paid by Balak to curse the people of God. But this is what Balaam said, “God is not a man that He should lie, neither a son of man that He should repent (change His mind) – what He said, shall He not do it, and what He has spoken will He not make it happen?!” God cannot lie, He cannot change what He has said. And in the next verse Balaam says, God has blessed, no one can change it!
When you have learnt power with God, God will begin to bless your life, your home, your family, your finance, your job – everything about your life! God will bless you. No one can change it, no one can reverse it – your life is under the power and blessing of God!
His favour lasts a lifetime! (Psalm 30:5, NLT)
I am living under the power and the blessing of God, I have a covenant relationship with God, God will never change that covenant! What a relationship! It does not depend on your ‘holiness’ – look at David, look at Israel – they went away from God, they sinned against God – but God cannot break His covenant! You have to come to a place in your life when God enters into that covenant with you and says, “I will bless you!” – When you receive that from God, for the rest of your life it will never change – it’s as certain as that! I challenge you to get to a spiritual place with God where the power of God is on your life. You can have that relationship with God, but first you have to have a personal experience with Him! Don’t depend on me – I challenge you – get on your knees, cry out to God, “Oh God I must have Your blessing in my life, I want power with You and a covenant that cannot be broken, so that You will bless my life, my ministry, my family!” You will see miracles in every area. Every time I preach the Gospel I dare to say from the platform, “God will work miracles.” I know. How? I have a covenant relationship with God. If I preach the true Gospel, if I declare the glory of God, God will honour it and work miracles.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV)
At the point of salvation followed by baptism, we become new – a divine exchange takes place: Jesus takes our sins and we receive Christ’s resurrected, eternal life. In Galatians 3:13-14, Paul says that Christ became cursed for us – He took all our curses on Himself on the cross – so that we are now blessed! When we receive Christ, all curses are broken, chains are gone, the past erased. Christ has redeemed us from every curse! We are blessed! Salvation through Christ is a finished work – we need no ‘add-ons’. It’s done – complete, finished. Anything less denies the truth of God’s Word and makes Christ’s sacrifice in vain!
Isaiah 53 teaches that God laid on Jesus the guilt and sins of every one of us… ‘It was the Lord’s good plan to bruise Him and fill Him with grief so that when His soul had been made an offering for sin, then He would have a multitude of children…’ – You and me!
At the point of salvation, we receive the spirit of adoption by which we cry, ‘Abba Father’ (Romans 8:15). This means we now are the sons and daughters of God – our ‘bloodline’ comes from Christ, not from our ancestors! Whatever our ancestors may have done, no generational curse has power over our lives! We are a new creation – literally re-created – all past mistakes and sins forgiven! We are new! Romans 6:11 says we are dead to sin and alive in Christ. The past has no more power over us!
There is no generational curse, no demonic influence, which has power over those who are in Christ! Whatever your natural parents may have done, evil spirits cannot live in you once you have received the Spirit of Christ and been baptised into Christ’s death: you are dead to all the past, including anything from any of your relatives! If the Spirit of Christ is in you – no evil spirit can be in you. You cannot have the Spirit of Christ and the spirit of the devil in you at the same time! In Matthew 7:18 Jesus said, “No tree can bear both good and bad fruit.” Either one or the other, but not both together – and if Jesus said it, then I cannot accept what anyone else might say!
Jesus has won the victory – He has paid the price – He has redeemed us! One of the most powerful phrases in the Bible is when Jesus, on the cross, shouts: “It is finished!” At that very moment, Jesus had done it all, the devil was defeated, curses broken – and we are made righteous and approved in God’s sight! – This is why the deliverance ministry and ancestor teaching are not appropriate for those who have received Christ. What we need is faith in the finished work of the cross! We must get back to an understanding of the power of salvation! – The moment you believe the lie that, as a believer, you are nonetheless affected by your ancestors and their sins, you have made your faith ‘of no effect’! Galatians 5:1-5 says you have ‘fallen from grace and Christ has become of no effect to you’! – We must get back to the simplicity of the true Gospel message of salvation. When Jesus said “It is finished” on the cross – it literally was finished! Nothing else is required! – Only faith to accept this truth. (Galatians 5:6).
