Christmas 2023 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners

My best greetings to you all and to your families this Christmas. May it be a time of renewal and blessing. In a world of uncertainty, we enter the New Year with Christ.

I have just returned from our day of prayer in Essen, Germany. The response was tremendously encouraging, especially as the vision they have is to work with all three generations. Much honour is given to the leadership of the older generation. On the Saturday, a full day praying for Israel, Ukraine and Europe, organised by the local churches, had a powerful impact – particularly on the young people. They are really stirred and want to continue working with me to see a real work of God amongst young people in Europe. On the Sunday, local churches combined for another powerful time of prayer and ministry, this time particularly touching the older generation, but young people too. We will continue to work together. I have had a vision for Germany since my East/West Conferences in the 1980s and early 90s, which saw the collapse of the Iron Curtain dividing Europe and of the USSR. This, for me, opened a powerful door of Revival in the former Soviet Union countries, but I was disappointed that it did not really touch Germany. But it looks as if now is the time for an awakening in Germany!

In fact, the theme of Sunday’s meeting was ‘Wake Up’. I certainly did wake them up, and they responded! This is very encouraging, as they see that my prophetic film ‘The Rape of Europe’ is being fulfilled right now in what is happening all over Europe today, most especially with the rise of militant Islam. We have agreed to continue further meetings in various parts of Germany, as they believe Germany is ready for – and needs – a spiritual awakening.

As I write this I am on my way to Georgia in the Caucasus to evangelise. Following the success of our Evangelism last year in Tbilisi the capital, the government asked me to hold this next evangelistic event in Batumi, an important seaside tourist venue with a large Moslem population, where the youth are very active in the mosques…. I will also be meeting with Pastors and Leaders from all over Central Asia where the main focus of my work now is – where we are planning major evangelism, days of prayer, encouraging the Pastors and Leaders, and bringing unity between the churches which they have not previously experienced.

Twenty years ago, we were able to evangelise in Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, but sadly after this, there was a time of real persecution because of the rise of Islam. So, it is a miracle that these areas have now opened up again, and we have a new freedom to evangelise, even with government and KGB acceptance, despite the fact that this whole area is still under Russian influence, pressure, and in some cases, control!

Since my last newsletter I can report that we had a powerful day of prayer in Armenia in October. 3000 Pastors and Leaders attended. It was so significant. Just six weeks before, after nearly 12 months’ siege and blockade, on 19th September, in a single day in a surprise move, Azerbaijan overran the weakened Armenian exclave of Nagorno-Karabakh. Fearing genocide, out of a population of 120,000, almost all fled to Armenia itself – no time to pack, they took nothing with them. This was a military aggression by a Moslem country against the oldest Christian country in the world. Armenia has suffered for over 1500 years from Moslem persecutions and genocides, including the 1915-16 genocide by Turkey. Following World War I, Armenia and Armenian Nagorno Karabakh were absorbed into the new USSR, and in 1991, became part of the Russian Federation, supposedly protected by a Russian peacekeeping force. However, Russia is now unable/unwilling to help, and the nation is turning to the West – which displeases Russia. The latest news is that France is sending military help, and our British Prime Minister flew out to meet with the Armenian Prime Minister in Tbilisi.

God’s timing in Armenia is so clear and the whole country realises this. Earlier, in May we held our first Day of Prayer in Yerevan with many denominations taking part. 5000 attended. The timing was prophetic, because soon after, in September, came the military invasion by the Moslems. In Armenia they need me to come back, not only for prayer, but for large-scale evangelism.

God’s timing is always so perfect: when we planned our day of prayer in Gatwick for November 11th, we had no knowledge that there would be war in Israel and that, as we were praying, 300,000 people would be demonstrating in London – pro-Palestine, and against Israel. We had a capacity group of 140 in Gatwick for what was a very powerful time of prayer for Israel, Ukraine and Britain! I believe that we must get back to our Days of Prayer in Britain; the war in Israel has shown the strength of the antisemitism in Britain today, which has shocked churches and even the government, who thought that the future of Britain was as a multicultural, multi-religious nation living together in unity. What has happened not only in Britain, but across the whole of Europe shows that antisemitism is not dead, but growing, especially with the large number of Moslems coming as migrants not only to Britain but even more so in all Europe. The prophetic vision in my film, ‘The Rape of Europe’, 22 years ago, is being fulfilled.

As you can see, the work is great, the need is great. Time is short. I am making a desperate appeal to you – all our overseas costs are escalating. We are now preparing our budgets for 2024 and facing larger demands than ever before. Following the vision God has given, we are planning to hold a Day of Prayer in Kyiv, plus prayer and evangelism in Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, plus I will be in Portugal in January and Poland in the beginning of February…. Costs are rising everywhere. We depend on your support both financially and in prayer … My task is not yet finished, it just gets bigger. Thank God, His Strength and Power will not fail me; as the Bible says, ‘as your days, so shall your strength be’. Deuteronomy 33:25.

Keep praying and supporting – Jesus is coming soon – storms, volcanoes, wars, financial difficulties - all are part of the Bible prophecies.

David

There are times when we should sit down and count our blessings! There’s an old song which goes, ‘Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done!’ It’s true! When I look back over my life, I’ve had many difficulties and yet – when I count my blessings – they outnumber my distresses! This is a good reminder to me of what the Lord has done in my life! ‘Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts,’ (Colossians 3.16, NIV).

The Power of Prayer: Uniting for Victory. During these challenging times in Ukraine, in June we held a National Day of Prayer for Ukraine in the city of Bucha, a place of Russian atrocities, cruelty and destruction, where now God’s peace has been reestablished. Many thousands attended the Day of Prayer. The next National Day of Prayer is June 2024, when our staff are believing that we will thank God for His total Victory!
