Dear Friends and Family
Thank-you to you, our supporters, who so generously gave towards the costs of SOZO, the All-Central-Asia Youth Conference held in August in Kyrgyzstan. Without you, we could not have done it. Only much prayer brought in the final finance to pay for it. I sensed so strongly, I HAD to be there!
Of the 1300 who registered from all the Asian ‘Stan’ republics, 1100 actually attended – despite the fact that everyone coming from outside the borders of Kyrgyzstan and taking part on the platform as speakers or musicians had first to undergo months of criminal investigations before finally obtaining security approval. I also had to get a certificate from the British Police, stating that I was not subject to any criminal prosecutions! This was followed by Kyrgyzstan’s own lengthy KGB checks which – to my surprise – I also passed! My final approval was given just weeks before the event! However, filming was not permitted…
I left home on the Sunday morning, arriving at my destination at breakfast-time next day. A few hours’ sleep and I was addressing a gathering of pastors and leaders. I saw how desperately they needed encouragement. Despite it now being 25 years since Kyrgyzstan gained independence from the Soviet Union, their own internal KGB has never disbanded and has continued to control and repress the people as before, with Christians under the strictest surveillance. I found a weary and more discouraged leadership than at my last visit two years ago, even the youth themselves were affected.
These young believers are the next generation of evangelists, pastors and missionaries who will bring revival to their nations and Central Asia. I did not come to bring human strategies, how to evangelise through sport, music or other youth activities. I came to bring the Power of the Holy Spirit who alone can change lives, convict of sin, righteousness and judgement. It’s my life’s testimony, my life-long experience with God.
I became so disturbed at the discouragement I was seeing and at the ineffectiveness of their strategies, that in the end the organising committee agreed to convene a special, unscheduled – and packed – meeting so I could address the issue and bring a strong message to the leaders. At last, I was fully able to speak to them from my heart. The Power of the Blood of Jesus. The Unlimited Power of God. Relationship with Christ, we’re sons and daughters of God, His Family. We're Ambassadors of the most powerful Kingdom in Heaven and on earth. I know, here in Central Asia they face so many life- and light-quenching pressures from the Enemy of the Gospel. If I came only to deliver only one message, this was the one that changed everything. And was followed that same evening before all 1100 youth. The atmosphere was charged with the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Lives changed. Hope and purpose renewed.
We have a busy September. By the time you receive this, with the increasing postal delays, I shall have been in Poland – for evangelism in a 5,000-seat stadium in Wroclaw (there will be a full report in my next newsletter) – and away in Norway for a week of prayer and ministry. Although my main ministry has always been the former Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine and now Central Asia, it does include Europe!
At the end of September, I am a guest speaker at an ‘Awakening Fire Conference’ in Tuebingen, Germany, close to where our German Office is situated. Eurovision was first registered as a charity in Germany when God gave me the vision to hold a series of prophetic East/West Conferences in Karlsruhe,1988-1992, to declare that God was about to open the Iron Curtain that had separated East and West Europe since the end of World War II – and sweep through those lands with the Fire of the Holy Spirit. Only days after the second conference ended in 1989, the Iron Curtain began to open up in East Europe, then the Berlin Wall fell just a few months later. In the third Eurovision Conference in 1991, I prophesied twice the collapse of the Soviet Union itself; the day after the conference ended, Gorbachev was out, communism with Russia at its head had fallen! From here I was the first evangelist to take the Dynamo Stadium in Kyiv – and here the Fire of the Holy Spirit fell! Next, evangelism in Siberia and the Far East of Russia – the land of gulags and exile, where many Christians had perished under communism. In the early 2000s we were reaching 80% of the former Soviet Union countries with the live broadcast on the only 2 TV Channels at that time, of my Gospel message with signs and wonders following. I am grateful to the German people for their continuing support of my ministry even to this day.
From Tuebingen I will be spending my week of prayer on my Prayer Mountain in Austria where, for more than 30 years, I have met with the Lord. It is on this mountain that I receive new Fire and the Lord reveals Himself as He did with Moses on Mt Sinai. It was from this mountain that the Lord sent me to Kyiv and Siberia!
