You have to make a conscious decision, either to continue to live ‘normally’ or to live in a faith-experience of letting God’s Word govern your decisions.
It is a command of God that we must possess and receive all that God has for us.
It is not an option – obey!
It takes faith to possess all that God has given and act on it. Real faith does not come easily, but it is a specific gift from God through the Holy Spirit and you can ask for it, as I do. First you must come into an experience of receiving the Holy Spirit, then you can receive His gifts. In 1 Corinthians 12 there are nine gifts. One is speaking with other tongues, but when you receive this, why not also ask for the gift of faith? If you will fight this spiritual battle, God will give a miracle – but choosing to have miracles is the hard way! Not many people have the faith to fight this battle and win. Spiritual warfare is not merely against the devil, it is also when you fight your own unbelief. My God answers prayer. If you are totally convinced, God CANNOT fail. But it takes a lot of faith to believe God to work miracles.
How to Move from Normal Living to a Life of Faith
Living a "faith-experience" is a conscious decision to let the Word of God govern every decision rather than following cultural norms. In Christian theology, possessing God’s promises is not an option – it is a command to be obeyed.
1. The Foundation: Receiving the Holy Spirit
Before exercising the higher gifts of power, a believer must first experience the baptism or receiving of the Holy Spirit. This serves as the gateway to the nine spiritual gifts outlined in 1 Corinthians 12.
The Gift of Tongues: Often the initial evidence or a common gift received.
The Gift of Faith: A specific, supernatural impartation that goes beyond "saving faith" to produce miracles.
2. The Command to Possess
Possessing what God has promised is a spiritual battle. Many believers fail to receive because they treat God's promises as optional suggestions rather than divine mandates.
Obedience is Key: You must decide to act on the Word.
Active Seeking: You are encouraged to specifically ask the Holy Spirit for the Gift of Faith to sustain you in battle.
3. Overcoming the "Hard Way": The Battle of Miracles
Choosing to live in the realm of miracles is described as the "hard way" because it requires intense spiritual warfare.
4. Why Faith Cannot Fail
The effectiveness of prayer is directly linked to the level of conviction in the believer.
"If you are totally convinced, God CANNOT fail."
While miracles require a high level of faith, this faith is available to anyone willing to fight the battle against their own doubt and yield to God's authority.
